Correctional Officer
Salary for a full-time Correctional Officer is $51,574.95 topping out at $59,518.57. Correctional Officers come into contact daily with inmates in the facility. They are a very important function to the correctional center and public safety to the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Pass a background investigation, drug screening, and medical exam
- Work weekends, nights, and holidays
- Must be able to communicate with highly upset and violet offenders
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-motivator
- Must be able to be certified in First Aid/CPR, Jailer Training Course
- Knowledge of computers is helpful but not required
