Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office Applicant Testing

 

The Des Moines County Civil Service Commission has scheduled a Civil Service Exam, for a deputy position for the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office.  The exam will be held on March 1, 2025.

Applicants will be contacted with the exact time and testing location.

This testing process consists of two parts:

1. Physical fitness performance

2. Written examination

 

Applicants must pass the physical fitness performance standards set forth by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and all sections of the written examination to be eligible for further consideration by the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office.

Applicants with passing written test scores from another agency in Iowa, within one year of testing, will not be required to complete the written examination.

Certified Law Enforcement Officers may be eligible to receive up to a $7,500 hiring incentive, as well as an elevated starting salary.

 

Completed applications must be received at the Sheriff’s Office by 

3:00 p.m. on February 21, 2025.
