Nature Center's Renewal
In preparation for the upcoming fall programming season, our dedicated team rolled up their sleeves and gave our Nature Center a revitalizing touch. Cleaned and decluttered, it now stands ready to welcome eager learners and nature enthusiasts. The Nature Center serves as a hub of knowledge and discovery, and we can't wait to see it come alive once again.
Welcoming Program Requests
It's that time of the year when excitement is in the air as we start accepting program requests for the upcoming season. Our streamlined Google Docs system ensures a seamless process for requesting in-class programs, captivating field trips, engaging lesson kits, and inspiring public programs. These offerings complement the existing fall programs on our calendar, promising a rich tapestry of learning experiences.
Delta Dental Grant for Sustainability
A noteworthy feather in our cap this August was the achievement of Marcus, our esteemed Environmental Education Manager. We're thrilled to announce that Marcus secured a grant from Delta Dental. This grant will be utilized to install a state-of-the-art drinking fountain and bottle filling station, aligning perfectly with our mission's core pillars of sustainability and quality recreational opportunities. A small step with a significant impact!
Self-Guided Adventures Await: Thanks to Walmart Grant!
In response to the growing desire for independent outdoor experiences, we're excited to introduce our upcoming program backpacks, made possible through a generous grant from Walmart. These curated backpacks will equip explorers of all ages with the tools needed for self-guided park activities. From guided trail maps to interactive materials, these backpacks will empower individuals and families to embark on their own educational journeys through our park.
Thanks to the support from Walmart, we're able to offer this unique opportunity for park-goers to delve into the wonders of nature at their own pace. The grant underscores Walmart's commitment to community engagement and environmental education, aligning perfectly with our mission to promote sustainable interactions with the natural world.

Monarch Tagging Takes Flight
Our commitment to conservation takes wing with the commencement of the Monarch Tagging programs. This longstanding initiative, aimed at tracking the migratory patterns of monarch butterflies, is in full swing. Having already tagged over 100 butterflies, we're eagerly anticipating our public events on September 16th and 23rd, where we aim to reach new heights in butterfly tagging.
