Whether you're a seasoned hunter or angler eager to share your skills, or a beginner excited to explore the world of hunting and fishing, the Hook & Hunt University Mentorship Program is the perfect opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together in the great outdoors.
This event is designed to connect seasoned outdoorsmen and women with beginners who want to gain the skills and confidence needed to enjoy hunting and fishing.
The kickoff meeting for this event is on March 20th at 6:00 PM at The Drake Restaurant in Burlington, IA. Join us to learn more about the Hunting Mentorship Program and how you can get involved! Sign up here! Dinner will be provided, courtesy of the Aldo Leopold Pheasants Forever Chapter.
We’re looking for both mentors and mentees:
Mentors – If you have experience in hunting or fishing and are willing to guide others, we need your expertise. Help mentees develop their skills, coordinate outings, and ensure a safe and responsible learning experience.
Mentees – Whether you’re an individual or a family looking to get started, this program is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and guidance from seasoned mentors. Mentees can choose what they want to hunt or fish, whether it’s turkeys or crappies this spring or deer, ducks, squirrels, coyotes, and more this fall.
Want to get a feel for shooting before heading out into the field? Join us for a Range Day on March 29th from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at Big Hollow Shooting Range, where experienced mentors will guide participants in handling and firing firearms safely. This is a great opportunity to build confidence and practice before your first hunt.
The Hunting Mentorship Program aims to foster a welcoming and supportive outdoor community, ensuring that more people can enjoy the natural resources available to us.
