Explore Big Hollow Recreation Area
Both cabins are located at Big Hollow Recreation Area, a year round destination offering something for everyone.
- 178-acre lake with a public boat ramp.
- Paddler friendly paradise with 90 acres of standing timber, offering quiet backwaters and areas only kayaks and canoes can access. Dedicated kayak launch located just down the hill from the camp host.
- Excellent fishing opportunities including bluegill, crappie, channel catfish, and bass, accessible by boat or from shore. Additional small ponds throughout the park provide quieter fishing spots year round.
- Open to public hunting, featuring deer, turkey, upland, and small game hunting during appropriate seasons. The extensive trail system gives hunters access to areas far from main roads.
- More than 10 miles of trails to explore, some of which are equestrian accessible. Big Hollow also serves as the north terminal point of the multi-use Flint River Trail, which is great for biking!
- Popular summer beach for swimming and relaxing.
